About me
Hello, my name is Jonathan!
Originally from North Wales, I was accepted into the University of Oxford to read Jurisprudence (Law).
From 2020 to 2023 I read law at Jesus College (Oxford) graduating with a First Class Honours.
Having completed my law degree, I have secured a job at one of the leading commercial law firms based in London (commencing the SQE in 2024). I currently work as a litigation paralegal at another leading global law firm.

Although I specialise in some areas more than others, I can teach the following subjects:

- Contract Law
- Tort Law
- Land Law
- Trust Law
- EU Law
- Administrative Law

Further, sessions can focus on the following areas:

- Law Firm Insight Scheme/Training Contract applications.
In addition to these legal topics, I also offer tutoring on more general subjects such as essay writing (e.g stylistic advice) and general proofreading and editing of dissertations and articles.
What will a session look like?
From a tutoring perspective, I am very keen to help prospective lawyers reach their potential. Whether you are studying A-Level Law or for a University degree, we can tailor the sessions to the topics you most want help with. Whether you want to focus on (i) a specific topic (e.g. frustration in contract law); (i) a specific subject and work through the whole subject (e.g. tort law); or (iii) you would prefer a broader lesson on essay writing and exam strategies, each lesson will be crafted to fit your needs. Likewise, the complexity level and type of legal knowledge worked on can be adapted depending on your level of study, capabilities, aspirations and time-frame. The message is simple — each lesson will be personalised so as to ensure that each second is spent ensuring that we do what works for you!
Teaching style: Having benefitted from the university of Oxford tutorial system, I aim for lessons to replicate what I experienced twice a week for three years — students learn best if they discuss and debate the topic. Unless otherwise requested, most lessons will take the format of a discussion whereby we discuss what you already know and use that as a platform to discuss alternative views, in addition to developing the level of knowledge you already possess. As we chat, you will gradually begin to (i) enhance your database of knowledge; and (ii) understand that which you did know in a far more natural way. I like to think that if you can verbally explain the law, you can easily write about it in an exam.
